In 2022, Spyderco took the evolution of the Lil’ Temperance concept a step further, replacing the G-10 scales of the Lil’ Temperance 3 with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) to create the Lil’ Temperance 3 Lightweight. Like all Spyderco “lightweight” knives, the term reflects the handle’s FRN construction, not necessarily a significant reduction in weight compared to other versions of the design. In the case of the Lil’ Temperance 3 Lightweight, the actual weight reduction is only 0.2 ounces (6 grams), or five percent.
The stout, leaf-shaped blade of the Lil’ Temperance 3 Lightweight is full-flat ground from 4mm-thick 3" VG-10 stainless steel and has a minimal ricasso to maximize its edge length.
